~ David & Luke ~
Brompton Food Market is a deli, cafe and grocer’s in the heart of South Kensington, just a few seconds walk from the station on the way to The Natural History Museum. Owned and run by David Turcan and Luke Mackay, friends for 20 years and former residents of the borough, the deli is about simple fresh food, cooked well using quality produce, served in a beautiful setting by friendly staff.
Luke has been in the food and wine business for 17 years. He has been a private chef in Chelsea and Kensington for a decade. He is married to Sara and has a three year old son called Murdo, named after his great, great, great grandfather Murdo Mackay who was a salmon fisherman in Thurso, and a baby daughter, Sula. His favourite Brompton Food Market supplier is ‘Kents Kitchen’ and his last supper would involve oysters, acorn fed Spanish ham and a slow cooked shoulder of pork.
After 14 years in sports marketing and business development David finally decided to make a career out of his deep love of all things culinary. He knocks up the best rib of beef in South West London and, with Luke, once constructed a fearsome 10 bird roast. He is married to Rosie and has 3 boys, Milo, Charlie and Oscar. His favourite Brompton Food Market supplier is ‘Badu’s Indian Feast’ and his last supper would involve potted shrimps, snow crab legs and goose fat chips.
